Signed up for a writing class

When I went to Crimebake I heard about an intensive one day writing course provided by Mystery Writers of America-MWA University 2.0-that will be held in Boston on February 14. I immediately searched for it but it wasn’t open for registration.

Well, I was able to register on 12/30, so I am good to go! I’m really looking forward to it. I love these types of events, not only for the educational meat of the classes and panels, but for the chance to network with other writers.

I’ve been slacking

I’ve been slacking. Though I hadn’t realized just how bad until I looked at the date of my last post-4/14/14-Yikes!

I have done some writing in that time, but to be honest, not a lot. I have let my time get taken up by other things. Things like (in order): gum surgery (never want to do that again!), a new grandson and all that entails (baby shower, birth, baby sitting, learning how to feed a baby again, etc), which I would do again in a heartbeat, and wrist surgery (both wrists) which I wouldn’t want to do again, but am definitely glad I did do it-no more wrist pain!

Now that I don’t have the excuse of wrist pain, I have to get going again and get my story written. I have some great things in mind for the story and I have actually gotten my characters on the literal road. I also have one or two ideas bouncing around in my head that I want to get written – a horror short story that I have recently found a publishing possibility for (so now I have to write it) and a supernatural/romance/mystery that I have had in the back of my mind for a couple years.

So no more slacking!
