After finishing the scene I mentioned in my last post, instead of getting my people on the road (literally), I started my new project – but it’s going to be a series of short stories, so I should be able to move back and forth between the two projects. I’ve gotten about 2000 words written, on top of the character profiles, names (what they mean are important to the story) and basic vampire research. So I feel pretty happy with the progress so far.
I still have to get myself into a schedule of writing every day. I seem to write in spurts – nothing for a week, then I get inspired and write feverishly for hours or a whole day. But that isn’t a productive way to get things done. I need to get myself writing every day, even if it’s only for thirty minutes. Of course it’s complicated by the whole necessity of going to work every day, too.
